E.L.F. Makeup and Cosmetics- Lips Edition

Here is my LIPS edition of my E.L.F. products I am sharing with you. I have a few different products from this category, and some of them have definitely become favourites in my collection.

Feather Proof Moisturizing Lip Liner $1
Natural Blush

(If you look closely, it has a type-o... "natrual blush" ha ha ha...)
Type-o's aside, this lip liner comes with a sharpener, which is always great. It definitely doesn't travel outside of your lips, so I'll give them that. But moisturizing? It's a typical pencil liner, can't really say it's moisturizing- that's quite a claim! The colour is really nice though, moderate pigmentation. I'll throw this on when I'm not wearing a tonne of makeup, but want to have a nice subtle colour to my lips.

Shimmer Lip Gloss $2
Hypershine Gloss $2

Top: Hypershine Lip Gloss, Flirt
Bottom: Shimmer Lip Gloss, Hope

I got the shimmer lip gloss free with my last purchase (if you didn't read my last post, the last time I ordered online from this company, I got a coupon code for 9 free items with my purchase.) To be honest I wouldn't buy more of these, and I think the reason I didn't gravitate toward them in the first place was because of the word "shimmer" in the name. I'm more of a matte lips type of gal, and when I go for a gloss, I'm not looking for shimmer per say. The Hypershine lip gloss on the other hand I LOVE. I like the brush applicator, the colour is really nice (looks much better on the lips than in this picture), and it's not sticky at all; rather it feels smooth and silky on your lips. I can't stand sticky lip glosses, so that is a really important factor for me.

Mineral Lipstick $5

 Top: Natural Nymph
Bottom: Runway Pink

These lipsticks are very creamy, and give good colour payoff. I do love nude lips, but the Natural Nymph colour is extremely nude. As you can see it's pretty much the same colour as my skin. To avoid looking completely dead, I mix this with another colour, or add a more pigmented gloss over top. Runway Pink is a very natural and classic pink colour.

Matte Lip Colour $3

Top: Coral
Bottom: Tea Rose

These have got to be one of my favourite E.L.F. products. I bought the coral colour in one of my very first purchases from them because the matte factor really intrigued me. I was so pleasantly surprised when I put this on my lips; truly matte, amazing colour pay-off, and not extremely drying as most matte lipsticks are. I also love how skinny the product is, both the tube (is that even what you would call it?), and the product itself; it's nice to hold, and makes for a really easy and precise application. You also get a good amount of product. I got the purple colour as one of my free products with my last purchase. I am officially in love and want this product in every colour they have!

Next up, my FACE and other miscellaneous products from their line.

E.L.F. Makeup and Cosmetics- Eyes Edition

That little saying "you get what you pay for" is usually pretty accurate. But definitely not for the makeup brand E.L.F., or Eyes, Lips, Face. It is one, if not THE cheapest makeup brand out there. But the quality of the makeup doesn't match the price at all. This makeup brand started off with all of their products being $1, and now range anywhere up to about $8. How they make their makeup the quality that it is for that price is truly a mystery.
So before you dismiss this blog post and think that this could never be possible, I'm going to share with you the ELF products I own. There are a few things I wouldn't re-purchase, but 99% of what I own of theirs I love.
They don't sell their products in stores in Canada (well not that I've discovered, anyway), so all my purchasing is done online. I am a part of their mailing list, and they have discounts and give coupon codes for their makeup ALL. THE. TIME. (So hard to believe considering how inexpensive their makeup already is). You do have to pay a shipping fee PLUS a border crossing fee (it's about $8), so I always make my orders when I get free shipping so I'm only paying the border fee. The last coupon code I got was for 9 free products shipped with an order, and all I had to do was spend $20 (I will be mentioning those free products I got; full size products, not samples!)

To appropriately match their name, I am going to divide these posts into 3 categories (can you guess what they are?)

Let's start with EYES!

Little Black Beauty Books
2 of my free products with my last online purchase, but they are $5 each
Left: Cool Edition, Right: Warm Edition

Some swatches from the Cool Edition

Some swatches from the Warm Edition

Fairly pigmented, a nice colour range for multiple looks, and a great size for travel.

Baked Eyeshadows
$3

Left: Toasted
Right: Bark

Great pigmentation, last all day on the eyes.

Single Eyeshadows
$3

Left: Pebble
Right: Sunset

Great pigmentation and staying power. Not chalky and no fallout.

Eyeshadow Primers
$3
Left: Golden (light golden shimmery colour)
Right: Sheer (one of the items I got for free with my last purchase)

Essential for showing true pigmentation of your eyeshadows, prevents creasing, and increases lasting power.
Would you paint a wall without priming it first?

Lengthening and Defining Mascara
Free with my last purchase, $1

I wouldn't have chosen to buy a mascara on my own, but this is why getting free products is great. I was skeptical when I opened it because of how small the brush is, but it ended up working really well. No clumps, no spider lashes, and the "lengthening" claim really stands true. Comparible to my other favourite mascaras.

Liquid Eyeliner (brush tip)
$1
Black

I wouldn't recommend a brush tip liquid liner if you're not comfortable with it already. But the brush is a good size, and the black is a true, non-streaky black. No difference to higher end brands.

Lash & Brow Clear Mascara
$1

I just started using this recently for my eyebrows. I use a very little bit, but it really makes a difference in keeping those brows where they should be, and brushing out any additional product if you put too much.

Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks
$2

Top: Little Miss Thing
Bottom: Turkish Coffee

Great as a base (I especially love the lighter colour for that use), an eyeliner, or even an all over the lid colour. I have noticed creasing by the end of the day without using a primer, though. So put a primer underneath these and you're good to go!

Eyebrow Stencil Kit
$1
Eyebrow Kit: Light
$3

I bought the stencil kit for fun and to play around a little (eyebrows can completely change a look!).
The eyebrow kit contains a wax (pictured left), and a powder (on the right). You can use either or both of these products at a time, depending on the look you're going for. It comes in light, medium, dark, and ash.

EYE BRUSHES

Left: Angled Contour Brush $3
Right: Blending Eye Brush (free product with my last purchase) $1

The angled brush makes blending on the outer corner of your eye more precise. The blending eye brush came for free with my last purchase, and I am so incredibly happy because it has become a favourite brush of mine. Amazing for putting colour into your crease, before blending with a fluffier brush. These brushes are amazingly soft too!

Eyeshadow "C" Brushes

Your basic eyeshadow brush for packing colour onto your lid. Also good for smudging underneath the eye. I had the black one from a few months back, and got the white one free with my last purchase.

Check out www.eyeslipsface.com and browse their website for a look at all their products.

Stay tuned for my "LIPS" products!
